This is my first attempt to replicating my own personal design of a Mondrian
Next week is the week before Spring Break. So big critique to step back and see where we are. Some questions popped in our minds today while discussing what we have to present next week.
1.) Does the images trick the viewers in the wrong way? Is the fact I chose famous paintings, distract from the ingredients completely?
2.) What if I did an abstract one instead of a famous known works?
3.) Other recipes I could play with?
I chose famous painting for two reasons:
1. To bring the viewer's attention to take a step closer with an iconic image
2. I wanted to bring these well-known ingredients from popular recipes into the spot like. Make them at the same "famous" level as Picasso's or Monet's works of art.
ORIGINAL ANDY WARHOL
Compositional combining ingredients to Creating a Pablo Picasso Painting called "Marie-Thérèse, face et profil":
Condensed milk (for everything to stick on)
I sneezed on the first draft. The cocoa powder blew everywhere. So to fix this happening again, I spread condensed milk on the bottom so that the layers would stick. It did not add too much so the ingredients did not mix as well as it help me create shapes with the different mixes of cocas and baking powder.
You might know this image as a reproduced design of Starry Night by Van Gogh, but there are purposely chosen ingredients:
It is a BlueBerry Pie!
Did anyone recognize these ingredients of a recipe that is so commonly eaten in our society?
My set up for shoot #1
Very fun to create, but do not think this will be the final image. I will be arranging the items a different way to show the beauty of the ingredients.
